Techniques for using Marvy Metallic Pens

African Hunter

Stamp Plate – NonSequitur 'I Dream of Africa' plate 73C
Use blue, green and gold markers on white gloss card.

Gold layer is watered down markers lightly applied with fingers (or a brush).
Layer as shown clear embossing the main card borders with an image from the stamp plate and adding string and a button coloured with rub on wax.

Zebra Dance

Card made with rubber stamps

Stamp Plate – NonSequitur 'I Dream of Africa' plate 73C
Use pink, gold and silver markers to completely cover white gloss card.
Cut off a small piece for the central panel.
Cut a rectangle into four and over stamp and black/gold emboss the Zebra stripes.
Alternate the colours attach to a pink panel that has been gold sprayed through lace and attach the embossed dancers panel to the centre.
Mount as shown.

My Garden

Card made with rubber stamps

Something a little different.
The only stamp is a little 'Garden' word from a Paper Artsy plate.
Make a Marvy panel using pink, copper, gold and silver markers.
Make a second panel on plain white card using Letraset Promarkers,Shale and Cinnamon rubbed onto a piece of expanded foam – the sort used for packing – then stamped onto the card for a tree bark effect. Use a leaf in the same way – stamp quickly before drying. This gets easier and better with practice.
Trim and attach the second panel onto the first then onto dark red layer.
Glue pressed flower heads between two Mica tile pieces and secure onto the card with 'blobs' of silver embossing before cooling.
Mount onto a main card adding metal word tags and raffia.

Fantasy Leaves

Card made with rubber stamps

Many stamps are suitable for this technique, especially solid designs
Take two or three chosen Marvy colours, shake the pens well and pump the nibs onto a CD or foil palette to make small pools of colour. Swirl to part mix.
Stamp into the colour and onto dark gloss card, only spritzing the stamp with water if too dry...
The under layer is black gloss with the borders coloured by dabbing on the ink with finger tips, or a brush.

Doris

Card made with rubber stamps

Purple and silver markers on black gloss card with Stewart Gill 'Marcasite' embossing powder applied while wet.
A transparency over textured card makes a panel and Clear Dimensional Stickers over peel off letters make the name. Also a nice way of sending a photograph.
If you do not have silver photo corners colour white ones with a Krylon pen, silver Brilliance re-inker or acrylic paint.
Mount onto a textured card to keep the 'chunky' look.

Imperial Panel

Card made with rubber stamps

Stamp – Magenta M26032P
This is simply gold and silver Marvy on red gloss card, over stamped and black embossed.
Mount with rich coloured card, decorating with corner scissors and add a gold tassel for an elegant finish.

Lovelorn

Card made with rubber stamps

Stamp Plate – Non Sequitur plate 40C
Green, gold and silver markers on black gloss card, a patchy effect is better than an even one.
Stamp your chosen image from the stamp plate, there are several to choose from and add a gold embossed on black flower element secured with a butterfly charm.
Corner cut the card with scissors and mount onto a pale green main card.
Add embellishment of choice.

Asian Lovers

Card made with rubber stamps

The same stamp plate and another section of the background card used for 'Lovelorn'.
The gold stamped panel is lightly coloured with gel pens and an extra piece of the background card is triple gold embossed with an Asian symbol stamped into the hot enamel.
A fimo disc, with a button impression, peel offs and a Yuzen paper is added before mounting onto the main card.
TIP: One stamp plate plus a variety Marvy colours can make a host of different designs.

Asian Women

A third lovely image from the Non Sequitur plate 40C
A panel of mixed colours on black gloss with the cling film technique.
Gold embossed image on plain black card with gel pen colouring.

Mount with complimentary layers onto a cream card.

Roman

Card made with rubber stamps

Non Sequitur - plate 50C
Simple gold and copper Marvy on black gloss with a stamped central panel and a gold embossed disc cut from the top of a bottle of wine for embellishment.
Copper Krylon the edge for definition and mount onto gold and a pale grey card.

TIP:
An adaptable design using people, floral, architectural and many other of the images on this stamp plate.

Confetti Heart

Card made with rubber stamps

This is white gloss card that has been badly brayered and rescued from the rubbish bin! Just for fun.
Coloured with a selection of Marvy markers.
Cut into five pieces. Attach two to the card front which is folded in half inwards – crease lightly.
Attached two to the inside back edge of the card and one cut into a heart and attached to the front over lapping the fold with foam pads.
The butterfly peel off is mounted onto a scrap of Twinkler painted paper (always keep a scrap to hand for brushing off spare paint before washing brushes).
The inside of the front fold can also be decorated or stamped with a greeting.
Add a cord or ribbon to the fold for extra 'pizzazz'.

TIP:
the folded front adds dimension when the card is opened.
