Instructions for Non Sequitur Card using Chalk Inkpads
Instructions are from one of the popular classes given by Freyja
You Will Need:
- White Main Card - Folded to 14cm x 10.5cm
- Piece of White Card 8cm x 9cm
- Pearlescent Blue Card - 10.5cm x 14cm and 8.5cm x 10cm.
- Stamps: Non Sequitur 'Memories of Italy' Plate
- Colourbox Fluid Chalk Inkpads in French Blue and Wisteria.
- Narrow Silver Ribbon 25cm + Two Beads
- Double Sided Adhesive Tape
- Foam Sticky Dots or Tape
Directions:
- Stamp the Floral Panel with blue ink onto the front edge of the main card and cut around the scalloped edge. See card above.
- Stamp the Head onto the small white piece of card. Use the French Blue ink and with a small piece of sponge lightly dab a little Wisteria over the stamp before stamping. This will give a two toned effect.
- Very lightly sponge blue ink over the image to make a pale blue background.
- Attach to the small blue panel and trim if needed.
- Attach the card front with sticky foam tape or pads.
- Trim the larger blue piece of card to exactly the same size as the card front and attach with tape inside the card at the centre fold only. Leave the open edges loose.
- Thread the two beads onto the ends of the ribbon and secure with a knot or glue.
- Tie a bow and stick onto the corner of the centre panel.
Variations:
- This is a very simple card to make. It is worth making several at the same time with variations to make each one different.
- Try other colours - Burnt Sienna and Bisque, Lime and Dark Green and Chestnut Roan on Blush coloured card are other attractive colour ways.
- Add photo corners to the central image before mounting. If only white card available colour with ink, paint or nail varnish.
- Offset the centre panel slightly over the folded edge for an attractive variation.
- Stamp the Small Rose from the same NonSequitur plate and colour with a little toning paint or ink, cut out and attach as a hair ornament.
- As above with a punched butterfly.
- Pearlescent card is a nice contrast to the matt chalk ink but not necessary; use plain card or textured hand-made paper or mulberry paper with gold thread as a mount.
