Instructions for Tile Cards.
Instructions are from one of the popular classes given by Freyja
You will need:
- Dark blue, black and brown dye inkpads
- Encore 'Enchanted Evening' metallic and Colour Box Options 'Confetti' pigment inkpads.
- A5 piece of very smooth white card (will make two sets of tiles)
- Piece of white/grey card approx 10.5 cm x 14cm for mounting squares
- One further mount and a main card approx. 12cm x 15cm.
- Sponge roller.
- Double sided adhesive tape, glue or glue stick.
- Personal trimmer or cutting knife and board.
- Plain coloured pigment inks can be used but the rainbow pads give a more interesting effect. Some dye inks will also work with a sponge roller - experiment.
- Gold, Silver, and Clear embossing powders.
Directions:
- Cut white card into three pieces each 15cm x 7cm
- Use the sponge roller to roll over the green/blue end of the 'Enchanted Evening' inkpad and then onto one piece of the card. Repeat until there is enough colour on the card.
- Repeat on the other two pieces with the lilac end of 'Enchanted Evening' and the yellow/marigold end of the 'Confetti' pad. Dry with a heat gun.
- When dry stamp randomly over each piece with a different stamp and dye inkpad.
- Using the knife/board or personal cutter - which is easier - cut each piece of card into 3cm squares. You will have enough tiles for two cards.
- Arrange tiles into a pleasing 12 square pattern and glue/tape onto backing.
- Mount to complete.
- NB Use a 3.5cm square hand punch for quick and easy tile making. However you will need to increase card sizes accordingly and do not use card heavier than 160grams.
Instructions for Oriental Style Card:
- Use white, black and red card, stamped with the Judikins Japan Cube and gold/silver/copper embossed.
- Carefully cut the round images into squares and mount onto black, gold and final card.
- Stamp and black emboss two more squares, cut in half and attach over the full white squares.
- Add tiny triangles of Asian paper to squares - see picture.
- Cut round gold peel-off on red card which is attached to the top of card with gold thread.
