Always wanted to collage but just can't get it right? It is not a skill that come naturally to everyone. Well there is a way to achieve an endless variety of beautiful, colourful mini collages without special skills.
This fascinating, fun technique - often called serendipity collage - uses a wide variety of paper scraps (that usually end up in the bin) plus stamping, embossing and making interesting embellishments; something to suit everyone and it is easy to do.
We will also stamp and enamel - emboss a panel and make a couple of quick paper beads to compliment our collage and complete a design for a card or box top.
This is a light hearted fun class with lots of freedom of expression, but expect lovely exciting results, each one unique.

The class will include:

Sunday 16th June - Japanese stab bound albums
Class teacher: Susie Jefferson

Learn how to make your album, scrapbook or sketchbook – and tailor it to your exact requirements! This class will teach you the skills you need to make your own books in any size or shape.
Japanese stab-bound albums can be adapted for any subject, and extra pages can be added at any time. Do you want to make a grand wedding album, or a little brag-book with photos of a favourite child, easily carried in a handbag? Are you making quilt pieces for an art course, or do you need a sturdy journal or sketchbook? Then this class is perfect for you! We will be using the best quality paper and book board for the covers, and a beautiful creamy white heavyweight acid-free and archival paper for the pages. This has a great wet strength, so perfect for mounting photos, journalling, painting - and stitching by hand or machine!
We will build an A4 book in class, covering & decorating the book boards, inserting pages, making holes and sewing it all together (I'll demo two stitching styles: a cross binding and a concealed binding). Even if you have never made a book before, as long as you can use needle and thread, you'll be able to make this one.
The class fee is £40.00, which includes all materials.
Please bring:
a sandwich lunch with you (tea & coffee will be provided)
an apron or wear old clothes
metal-edged ruler and craft knife with new blade
pencil & eraser
pokey tool
